The company first emerged in the MMORPG market in 2003, when we became a seller of virtual currency and items on the popular Ebay auction site. At the time, the market for selling online gaming currency and items was wide open, and the company had no known competitors. In fact, we believe that we were the first company to market in-game currency and items, which quickly lead to the company’s explosive popularity on Ebay.
As is frequently the price of success, IGXP’s rapid domination of the MMORPG selling market soon attracted the attention of copycat sellers on Ebay. However our proactive marketing and high marks for customer service resulted in IGXP being named as the #1 in-game currency and virtual item seller in all of Australia. By January 2005, we had amassed over 1000 satisfied customers on Ebay, and a positive feedback score that was the envy of our competition. At was at this point, that we decided to regroup and focus the company’s resources on the development of a MMORPG selling website.
In January 2005, we launched www.IGXP.com. The website, we believed, would allow IGXP to better serve our customers by giving them the opportunity to purchase in-game currency and items immediately, as opposed to being forced to wait until the end of an Ebay auction. MMORPG fans could now purchase virtual game currency and items for use in some of the gaming industry’s most popular titles instantly.
The new website allowed customer to purchase World of Warcraft, GuildWars, Diablo 2, EverQuest 2, Ultima Online, and other popular MMORPG currencies and in-game items such as weapons, armor, and potions immediately. Buyers no longer needed to wait around for their currency and items. Instead, purchases were instantly paid for via the company’s secure website and transferred to the buyer’s MMORPG account. This gave IGXP a major advantage over our competitors. Since then, we have expanded to include a power leveling service so that fans can outsource the advancement of their favorite characters. Most recently, we developed a site that purchases excess gold directly from MMORPG players, converting virtual currency into real money for sellers.
Currently, IGXP is comprised of a team of 58 people including a customer service team, power leveling specialists, in-game goods deliverers, the accounts staff, marketing specialists, stock scouts, and web designers. We operate by means of dual headquarters in Australia and Hong Kong, as well as three (3) workshops in Asia, one (1) in Oceania, and one (1) in North America.
